Where you roll 10d6 in D&D
Disintegrate: Disintegrate is a 6th-level spell that fires a single ray. The target makes a Dexterity save and, on a failure, takes 10d6 + 40 force damage: at least 50, 75 on average, up to 100. A success means no damage at all, so aim it at something with a poor Dexterity save. If it drops the target to 0 hit points, the target is turned to dust. It also destroys a Large or smaller nonmagical object or a creation of magical force, such as a Wall of Force, outright.
Upcast Fireball and big area spells: Fireball and Lightning Bolt deal 8d6 at 3rd level and add 1d6 per slot level, so a 5th-level slot gives 10d6 (35 on average). That works, but it is rarely the best use of the slot: Cone of Cold already deals 8d8 (36 on average) in a 60-foot cone at 5th level, and many 5th-level spells do things no damage roll can. Freezing Sphere is 10d6 cold from a 6th-level slot. At levels 19 and 20 a rogue's Sneak Attack is also 10d6, see Sneak Attack in 5e.
Monsters and dice pools: In the 2024 stat blocks, a purple worm's tail stinger adds 10d6 poison on top of 2d6 + 9 piercing, and a sphinx of lore can roar for 10d6 psychic against every enemy within 300 feet. On 10d6 you roll 40 or more 20.5% of the time and 45 or more just 3.9%. If you want 10 dice for a board game or a dice pool system rather than a single damage total, use Roll 10 Dice.

About this roller
DnD Dice Roller (dnddiceroller.org) rolls every die with your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, crypto.getRandomValues, and uses rejection sampling so every face is exactly equally likely. The 3D dice only animate a result that has already been decided this way; the physics never picks the number. Rolls happen on your device and are never sent to our server.
