Bless 5e
Bless is a 1st-level concentration spell that lets up to three creatures within 30 feet add 1d4 (average 2.5) to every attack roll and saving throw for up to 1 minute. Each slot level above 1st adds one more target. It is a bonus to hit and to saves, not extra damage.

How Bless works
How it works: Choose up to three creatures you can see within 30 feet. Until the spell ends, whenever one of them makes an attack roll or a saving throw, it rolls a d4 and adds the result. The die is rolled fresh every time, and it applies to death saving throws too, since those are saving throws.
Concentration: Bless lasts up to 1 minute (10 rounds) but needs concentration. If you take damage you make a Constitution save to keep it, and casting another concentration spell ends it.
Upcasting: Each slot level above 1st lets you target one more creature. The bonus stays a single d4; a higher slot never makes the die bigger.
Why it is strong: An average of 2.5 is roughly a +2 to +3 bonus to hit, which is a big swing on a d20. Spread across three or more allies attacking for 10 rounds, Bless often adds more total damage than a damage spell of the same level, and it shores up saves against dangerous effects.

Bless FAQ
What does Bless do in 5e?
Up to three creatures you choose within 30 feet add 1d4 to their attack rolls and saving throws for up to 1 minute, as long as you keep concentration.
Does Bless add to damage?
No. The d4 applies to attack rolls and saving throws only. It helps you hit more often, but it is not added to the damage roll.
Does Bless work on death saving throws?
Yes. A death saving throw is a saving throw, so a blessed creature adds the d4 to it.
Does upcasting Bless increase the die?
No. Each slot level above 1st adds one more target. The bonus is always 1d4.
